On LS engines the oil filter bypass valve is inside the oil filter housing. It’s removed with a 3/8″ bolt rocked sideways. The purpose of the valve is to all.. The factory check valve can open with oil pressure surges, letting unfiltered oil by and into the bearings. A 1/4-20 threaded hole in the end of our Bypass delete is for easy removal.
